What is Evergy's New FastTrack HVAC Pays Program?

At Summit Heating & Cooling, we’re always looking for ways to make comfort more affordable for our customers. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Evergy’s new FastTrack HVAC PAYS® program for Missouri customers. It’s a simple and stress-free way to upgrade your home to a high-efficiency heating and cooling system, without the heavy upfront cost or complicated paperwork.

If you’ve been putting off replacing your HVAC system because of the price, this program may be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

How the Program Works

FastTrack HVAC PAYS® is designed specifically for Missouri homeowners who want a more efficient system. The program is a streamlined extension of Evergy’s whole-home PAYS (Pay As You Save) initiative but focused just on your HVAC system.

Here’s the basic idea: a Summit Comfort Advisor collects some information about your home and current equipment and submits an application to Evergy. Evergy then reviews your energy usage from the past 12 months and estimates how much you could save over the next 15 years. Based on that projection, they provide an instant rebate and offer to finance up to 80 percent of your projected savings. The payments are spread out over 180 months and show up right on your utility bill.

The best part is that the savings are designed to outweigh the payments. On average, homeowners see about 17 percent lower energy bills even after financing their new system.

A Different Kind of Financing

One unique feature of this program is that the repayment isn’t tied to you personally. Instead, it’s tied to your home’s utility meter. That means if you sell your house, the new owner takes over the benefit of the system along with the payments. Once Evergy has recovered their initial investment, the payments stop. You can also choose to pay it off early.

And unlike many rebate programs, this one doesn’t require extra forms, credit checks or a home energy assessment. The rebate is applied instantly, your Comfort Advisor can complete the process in one visit, and installation can be scheduled the same day. Repayments don’t even begin until 45 days after your system is installed.

What Kind of Rebates Can You Expect?

Starting in August 2025, Evergy is offering substantial rebates through the FastTrack HVAC PAYS program. Depending on the system you choose, rebates may include:

  • $1,000 on a high-efficiency central AC (SEER2 15.2+)
  • $1,300 on an air-source heat pump replacing electric resistance heat
  • $1,000 on an air-source heat pump in a dual-fuel system
  • $500 on a mini-split AC or heat pump
  • $1,900 on a ground-source heat pump

These rebates are applied instantly, lowering your costs before your system is even installed.

Why Homeowners Like It

Upgrading your HVAC system can feel overwhelming, but this program takes away much of the hassle. Customers enjoy lower monthly energy bills, no paperwork headaches, and peace of mind with Summit’s lifetime workmanship guarantee, up to 10-year labor protection with our 10 + 10 program and three years of annual service. Plus, your home will receive Pearl Certification, which can even boost resale value.

What to Keep in Mind

Like any program, it’s important to understand the details. Evergy does charge a 3 percent service fee on the amount financed. In their example, if you finance $3,187.65, the added fee works out to about $4.30 a month, or roughly $774.75 total over 15 years. The upfront rebate more than covers this amount and you get to enjoy a more efficient home for those 15 years.

If you’re planning to sell your home in the near future, it’s worth talking to your real estate agent about how the payments would transfer to a new owner. While this setup can be a selling point, it’s good to know how it might impact your specific situation.

Is It Right for You?

To put it into perspective, imagine your new high-efficiency AC costs $12,000 to $15,000. Evergy projects that system will save you $4,000 over 15 years. Instead of paying the full amount, you’d receive a $1,000 rebate right away and finance $4,000 through them with your savings paying the bill. Your upfront cost would be around $7,000, and can be paid by check, credit card or even traditional financing with rates as low as 0%.
It’s an easy way to upgrade your home and save money on energy now.
